Life By Water

Life By Water is an upcoming book of photography and poetry that explores my heritage as a Chinese-American immigrant. The title refers to my experiences growing up along the Mississippi and Yellow Rivers, which can be seen intersecting on the front cover. The expected publication date is December 2020.

These include commissioned works such as head-shots for LinkedIn and company websites as well as personal projects.


China

In 2018, I returned to China to visit my relatives for the first time in over a decade. In this collection, focus was placed on walls and barriers, and how they interplay with the photographer’s own sense of disconnect between American and Chinese cultures.


I Contain Solitudes

I Contain Solitudes is an ongoing photography project centering on isolation and alienation in urban spaces. These photographs place emphasis on flatness, the distancing between subject and object, and a deliberate minimalization of human presence.
